New Life

Hey, did y’all notice the new layout (it will improve, give me some time, I just wanted to change the color), new header and updated profile? Well it’s almost 2011 and it’s a shame if after almost 2 years of not posting, everything will stay the same. Besides, A LOT have changed since then.

I don’t know how to start, I don’t know how to go back, all I know is, I’ve changed a lot since then. I’ve grown a lot. I’ve learned how to let go of so many things and embrace what’s there for me. I’m still working on this, but I want to stop complaining about life. I want to stay positive. I want to make sure that I don’t take things for granted. I am incredibly grateful for what God has given me.

So to start with, since my last post, I got a new outlook , new goal, new job, new friends, new hobbies, new obsessions, new room, new laptop. I will go through each of these on my next posts (sorry I can’t commit to write that long in one post hehe).

And I want to try and learn new things.

Guess who's back! (or whose back?)

Yep! I'm back! And yep, that's my back! Finally the wait is over. I got myself a new laptop. It was long overdue but heck, I'm back! I'm so excited, I can't wait to install stuff in here. I need a lot of catching up to do, but that can wait a while. For now, I want to use this space to greet everyone a Merry, merry Christmas. May your hearts be filled with joy. More posts to come soon. (",x)

blog plug

I found myself drawn to engrish.com ever since I received a forwarded email from my brother. It archives (since 1996) pictures of poorly translated signs, menus, and instruction manuals to bizarrely worded ads and strange, t-shirt, and slogans. It had become a routinary stop whenever I had the opportunirty to access the web. The funny thing about it is that those grammatical, typographical or spelling errors give another whole new meaning to the phrase. And yes, they sounded really silly hehehe. I hope I don't look silly laughing out loud all alone because of these hehehe:

I'm sure I won't buy it

They grow up fast!

Okay I don't want to grab everything there. Better if you'll check the site. The blog section is also worth the check. Okay that's it, I can't stop laughing!

Don't you think it's amazing that Filipinos are very good with English?

Blog Anniversary Post

I was exaggerating when I said that I’ve been blogging for 4 years. Sure it looks four if I look my archive column, but if I’d do math, it’s only my 3rd year. Numbers can be so tricky huh. It’s the start of July and it’s the4thram’s month! Yes this month I’m celebrating my 3rd year in the blogging scene and as you can see I’m trying real hard to make it survive. If I do have faithful readers then it’d really make me happy.

As you can see, I’ve already made some improvements (no matter how little they are) in the blog. I know for some time it had come to a hiatus but I’ll try to write as much as I can to keep it going. Because this blog is a reflection of me, my life, my story.

Have a wonderful July everyone.

on simplicity

I was looking at my blog when I noticed my archive column summarized in years. I realized that my blog is turning 4 years old by next month.

Then it hit me...

I've been a blogger for almost 4 years but I haven't made any improvements (in the blog). Although recently I changed the layout to impose a "light" ambiance, I'm still using one of the default designs which are very.... plain and simple. I used to be bothered by this premise before but I've learned to accept it.

C'mon Kid, just admit it, you're not adept at these cyber creativity things.

Yes. I accept.

Accept the shortcomings but never lose the confidence. I know I'm not a talented person. I'm just an average person. But that doesn't make me "ordinary". I have my own gift from God which I have yet to discover. Besides, I have my fans - my parents. They've always believe I excel on a lot of things. And as long as I have these people who believes, I will be proud of ME.

This blog reflects so much of me. Plain and simple (and green???). But look at the number of posts. I never realized I've written this much. Of course it's nothing compared to hardcore bloggers, but still, it's something. I may look plain and simple at first glance but I have so much inside that makes me radiant.

And yeah, I checked my older posts and I was overwhelmed by the number of typos hahaha! Everytime I'd spot an error I felt a whack on my head and made a sour face. But who cares, hey this is MY BLOG. I have the right to commit mistakes hehehe.

Have a meaningful weekend everyone (",x)

I wonder if anybody noticed that I rarely update my blog nowadays. If you do, then what do you think could be the reason?

  1. I’m too lazy to write something
  2. I’m too busy, can’t find time for this
  3. There’s really no update to write
  4. It’s best keep my activities to myself
  5. All of the above
  6. None of the above
And the answer is… well I’ll leave it to your imagination hehehe. But one reason I have is that I rarely get “connected” to the web. Sometimes, ideas keep popping out of my mind and I feel the urge to share them but it’s either I’m not on my PC or online and by the time I am, all those thoughts have already flown away –sigh-.

As for updates (on my life), I think I owe my (very few) readers a lot… So let’s start with the Ozine Fest last April 5. I attended Day 1 and it was… just fine. Don’t blame me if over the years I’ve gotten jaded over local anime conventions held. There’s really nothing new. But of course I can still appreciate some cosplayers, and yes I still approach some to take pics. It runs on every otaku’s system and can’t be taken off by external influences hehehe. The best thing about it though was being able to see my friends which I haven’t seen for a long time. I finally got to meet Aish’ husband Duston. He’s a nice and funny guy and they really look cute together. I wonder if they’re planning to have a baby soon because I’m really rooting for a baby boy hehehe. Going back to the event, the day 1 featured the Group cosplay competition and I really don’t like staying in the event just to watch the group cosplay category. Don’t get me wrong though, I have nothing against group cosplay, how I’d love to join group cosplaying with my friends. It’s just that I find the skits too lame. Honestly, a 5-15 minute skit by a group can get me snoring. Nothing against the cosplayers, the costumes were wonderful but the “stage play” factor is way below my standards. PLUS, that big yakult replica really helped! If I only knew, I would’ve come the second day and I will never stand behind the Yakult booth ever. Still, seeing my friends made coming worth it. And yes, I managed to get a Ruroken doujinshi and a Yuyu Hakusho snap fit model kit hehehe. You can view my Ozine Fest ’08 HERE.

Speaking of toys, I’m currently addicted to gashapons. Well not really, it’s just that a certain series of gashapon caught my attention. And guess what, they are not anime, manga or game related but replica of the human anatomy. I find it really amusing that these anatomical models found their way to gashapon world. But the main reason I liked it is because I was really impressed with the details in relation to its size. Hail to the Japanese toy makers! The major disadvantage of being hooked to gashapon is the blind purchase system. We all know that you can get them at vending machines installed at various toy stores, and there’s no way you wouldn’t end up getting the same design two or more times. But then again, I have already found a sensible solution for that. Hehehe, for this year, friends can expect me to give out gasahpons as birthday presents!

The Last Post?

Yes it is, only for this year of course. I'm currently at my usual tambayan, Gloria Jeans Megamall downloading some manga. Bad news, Hunter x Hunter, is on hiatus again! For how long I'm not sure.. the f***! Oh man I waited for this series to continue for so long and now it's on hiatus again huhuhu... Anyway, I wish everyone a blissful year ahead. Enjoy life everyone (",x)

The rest of 2oo7...

I don't really have much time to tell an epic now. I know I have a lot of stories to tell... I owe a lot from my blog hehehe. Definitely I'm missing a lot of updates in my life but I'm trying my best to catch up... a lot of pics to upload too -sigh-...

Anyway, everyone, we have 9 days to enjoy before moving forward to a new year. Let's all give our last blast. I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can because I feel that I may never have the time to do so in the coming year. So let me start with events!

2007 Komik Con - I barely last an hour, I didn't really plan on coming here...
Neil Gaiman in Manila - I sacrificed going to the UP-AME (can't go out in 2 consecutive days hehe) event just to see Gaiman! Too bad no book signing, but his words of wisdom of enough. He acknowledges the Filipino talent in writing! Way to go kabayans!!!

2007 Hanep Hataw Hero - I love the venue and the booths! They did a good job of making me feel to be in an "anime convention" - the loot bag and freebies was really something new. But still needs to improve on the program of activities... and the cosplay... well I didn't finish it, I can't find anything new.

Let's move on to the wedding bells, my friend Weng just got married to her long time boyfriend Ruel, and I'm really happy for her. While my eldest bro Richard will tying the knot next month! Now here's another significant event in the family, and don't get me started with reminiscing my childhood again hahaha!

And so far, what keeps me busy is the different Christmas parties that I attend... attending the parties at MDH makes me feel like i didn't really leave hehehe.

And yeah, Oliver got home and all I got from him are RK manga vol.3, coins (yen), ballpen from the Tokyo Motor Show, and chocolates. Well knowing him I really didn't expect anything hehe. I'm just thankful he's back safe. I love his laptop and it made me really feel I should upgrade my laptop soon hahaha...

Last but not the least, my Christmas Wishlist:

The Sandman library vol. 6-10
RK Manga vol.9, 20, 25-26
Clamp No Kiseki Vol.1-3
PG Wing 0 custom model kit

Darn, am I really that busy?! I was thinking if I really had no time or I’m just too lazy or I have weakened my writing skills… awww… anyway, I wanted so badly to update my blog, so to start with, I must summarize the what happened the previous year. Then later I’d report the recent happenings in KiD’s groovy and gloomy life hehehe…

So how was the year2006 for me? Good and bad, happy and sad… maybe I could start after that resignation of Ma’am Shella last September. After she went off, Ma’am Marits assume the position as the Officer-in-Charge in our department. Everything went smoothly with our Surveillance Audit and was able to maintain our ISO certificate. Prior to the Audit, we moved to a new and better office, along the Executive Offices, BDD and HRD. Ma’am Marits is also a member of the IQA team, former Lead Auditor, and was a part of the legendary Docs Team. A very diligent and professional person, to be under her supervision was a good learning experience for the QM Staff and her tamed personality was a good example for all of us. It was a regret on our (QM) part that she preferred practicing her profession (Physical Therapist) and eventually let go of her OIC position as per her agreement with Dr. Joson.

The year 2006 was the year that I got to socialize more with other MDH people, in and out, of the hospital. I guess it all started when Frances was on the verge of emotional depression that I got connected with different icons in the hospital hehehe. She had this very frequent emotional shift that we named her “pakto” (topak) hehehe. I won’t go on the details since I wouldn’t want her personal problems to be aired, I’ll never know who’s gonna read this journal anyway. But anyway, it all started with her that I got close with Dindee, Aris, and Ren. And who would forget our late night escapades using Dindee’s car. We would go to different places whenever it popped in our mind regardless of time and location hehehe. I really enjoyed their company that I’d forget my own emotional problems. And the ironic thing about it is that (I think) we don’t share the same interests. Minus the fact that we’re all “not normal”, each has his/her own set of interest. So what brings us together? STARBUCKS!!! Hahaha…

This new set of friends may have been the reason why I am not so updated in anime/ manga for so long. I hardly had the time to watch anime, read manga and attend anicons. After the Toycon, the next event I was into was the UPAME Matsuri… and I wasn’t even able to join the Cosplay. Waahh, I didn’t cosplay in 2006?!?! Now that was really depressing –sigh-… but it’s all worthwhile since I get to learn new things. And though I’m not so updated with the latest anime, manga or event, I still manage to update my Toy collection, yay! Some of the best I got since I acquired that Kenshin figures that I craved for so long (see my July 26 entry) were Vincent Valentine, Ohm model kit, 1/144 HG Wing Gundam 0-custom Metal clear edition, 1/100 MG Gundam 0-custom (read that “MG”!) Rei Ayanami in white santa dress,Tsubasa Chronicles mini figures, etc…

Late 2006 was also the time that I am really confused with myself. What I want to be, where I want to be, what I want to achieve, etc… I am talking about my career. Now that we're on the middle of a big project that entails much of my time, I’m having second thoughts if I’d still push through with my manga artist dream. Maybe I should just study intensive nihongo, or maybe I could push through with medical studies, etc… but one thing remains clear, I want to go to Japan. I want to work there. I want to have Japanese friends… when and how, I don’t know… I really need guidance on this matter…

Okay, that would be all for a year recall. What makes it hard for me to document everything that transpired is the feeling that nothing significant changed in me. I’m still on the same base… I’m still confused, still depressed, still broke –sigh-. I haven’t matured a bit! I’m still that same foolish kid!!!! And my blog layout still sucks!!! Arghhhhhh!!!!!
But perhaps, the coming year would be better... it's the year of the boar! Hey Kagura!!! I'll try my very best to be active in the virtual reality hehehe... And i'll try to be more Japanese, hey I'm speaking of "discipline" here. Be more focused on my goals. Reach for my dream!
By the way, as I try to be more active on the web, from now on i'll be posting my pictures in my Multiply account... Geez.. having different web accounts is just as tedious as multi-tasking. But really, on my 10-day vacation next month, I'll try to fix my account! That'd be all for now! Mata ne!!!! (",x)

Saturday, May 13, 2006

Hah, a friend alerted me for not updating my blog. Truth is, I do update my journal, I was just feeling idle to upload it. Well for the sake of my regular readers, here’s what happened for the last few days… Anyways, I’ve been very busy (like what’s new with that?)….

I’ve finally got Momonja a filter/ protector. Yay! Damn it cost me 200 bucks! I’m just irritated with the fact that its adhesion means doesn’t work efficiently! Damn, I ended up using a masking tape! Pathetic! I want a refund!!!

I checked Power Station at Rockwell yesterday, And I’m happy to report that I found it really great, just as much as find Timezone G4 and Greenbelt 3 great. Oh how I’d love to hang out with my friends there. Besides from the fact that it has House of the Dead 3 & 4, they also got KTV rooms, and what’s more, their KTV systems have Japanese (and Korean and Chinese Songs). And they have Dive to Blue, Ready Steady Go! Hmmm, more updated than Music 21 huh. Though I’m not satisfied with the sounds system. Well anyways, another good thing is that they have good selection of prizes, much better than Timezone’s. which motivates me to play “ticketed” games. And they have a very good basketball games, they’re different from any basketball games I’ve seen in all the arcade centers that I’ve been. They have this “modernized” look. Plus, Power Station have this reward system every time you reload. Cool huh… and considering I purchased the VIP card (a year ago), that gives me 200 worth of load on my birthday! Yeah! Now as far as I know, there are only 3 Power Station here, Shangri-La, The Podium, and Rockwell (Power Plant Mall). Hmmm, noticed something? All located at high-end malls huh? Well, whatever, I’m determined to earn tickets, I’ve already eyed an action figure worth 500 tickets!!! I will definitely be going back here hehehe…

Last Tuesday was Russell’s flight off to Korea. Damn, I can’t help feeling sad. I’d definitely miss the guy. He’s always been very generous to me and he’s one of the few guys I know that I could have a sensible conversation. Also, I’m being emphatic on Sherry, I just know, she’ll miss her brother the most. And, it’s not gonna be the same visiting the Nery’s home without him… oh well, time flies pretty fast… for all we know, before I’d knew it, he’s back…. 3 years is too short… ne?

Last Monday, I went to Feata, and what a very gloomy state they have there! They had their electrical connection cut! The Saleslady said that the owner (they are talking about the new wife or partner of the Japanese guy) didn’t pay the bills. And it’s been like that for 2 months! Good heavens, it’s the worst! I can’t bear the fact that those manga and anime stuffs are living in darkness. Okay, I’m exaggerating, my stuffs are also in darkness (cabinet) hehehe… but I do take them out of the light (and caress them hahah)at least every weekend. I wonder what were the reactions of the other customers (who’re definitely rabid otaku). Anyway, I went there just to claim my remaining 340 worth of gift for reaching the goal box. I got myself Aneglic Layer volume 2 and Tenkuu No Escaflowne vol. 6. Now speaking of Esca, I have to check which came first, the anime or the manga, because they have different character design… though most anime (90% that is) originated from it’s printed counterpart, there’d be cases that the anime would precede the manga version, just like Evangelion. Going back to Feata, is there anything we, (otaku-tachi) can do? I wish they won’t be closing down yet… oh pls. at least not until I complete my RK manga… I still have 5 tankoubons left to obtain… damn!!!

Also, I finished House of the Dead 4, with Mike, last week at Time Zone Megamall. All HOD are so addicting hehehe… I wish I could finish the very first HOD too, and I guess that’d make me a faithful follower of HOD hehehe. So far, only Timezone at Greenbelt 3 has the HOD 1.

My recent addictions, I’m currently hooked to YUI’s music… her soft and childlike voice reminds me of Sakura Kinimoto. Kawaii!!! But her music can be both jumpy and relaxing. Typical Jpop… but I haven’t seen a female J-pop singer playing guitar… cool! Also, lately I’m into Incubus’s music, and I’ve been pestering Manong Pirate to get me an Incubus MP3. I want all their albums I said! But he’d always tell me that there’s always a raid in Quiapo so he can’t get me one. Geez, alibis! But above all, Narda still tops “Kid’s” chart hehehe… still a constant song number in my playlist hehe… in fact it’s playing in my WMPlayer right now –nag-aabang sa langit, sa mga ulap sumisilip, sa likod ng mga tala… kahit sulyap lang…-

Hmmm, what else, I’ve finished reading The Balck Lotus. Now I’m currently reading The Perfumed Sleeve… I just love it. I learn a lot of yaoi customs during the Tokugawa Era hahaha… scenes from Gohatto suddenly flashed my mind hehehe…

Lastly, we had our calendar planning yesterday. Actually, just a VL planning, my boss asked us to schedule our VL and make sure that no one would lapse the other. Knowing the busiest month for me would be June, I scheduled my VL from June 13-June 23. why, of course, Toy Con, Manila International Book Fair, The Condor’s Quest play, would be held between those dates… and besides, 2 of the most important figures in my life would be celebrating their birthdays in two of those dates… my self-proclaimed holidays hehehe…

And it’s a rainy day today… -sigh- I got no umbrella…

I’m posting 3 entries today. Those entries that I should’ve posted days ago, but blogspot seems to have some technical problems and I couldn’t log in. Anyway, I've got tons of pics from Lynn's wedding already, but i really hate to post it. Damn, everyone who sees them had the same initial comments -ang taba mo!- ack!!! oh pls... God help me loose my appetite -sobs-

Introduction

Yay! I finally get to post here! I had my blogspot account ages ago, but because i'm soooo busy and still "innocent" on how to manipulate this thing, blah blah blah... Anyway, this is supposed an online journal, so i'll get on with what happened to me this day, rather recently, this past few days.

You see I had my hair dyed (blonde) last week for my Seguchi Tohma cosplay... Ah.. I'm not in the mood to talk about it, i'm sooo tired. Maybe sometime...

Pls. take your time in browsing my blog, comments are welcome, positive or negative. I'll try to post and update it as much as I could.

I'll post my blonde pics soon hehehe...
